RAJABHAT MAHA SARAKHAM UNIVERSITY
Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University is located in Muang District of Maha Sarakham Province,in the heart of Northeast Thailand . The University prides itself in having trained its students to become
graduates in the field of education, as well as other professions who serve in a variety of sectors in many
parts of the country. Since its establishment in 1925, the Institute has played an important role in
the development of the community and the region, It has been part of the name “Muang Takasila”
which is used to refer to Maha Sarakham as a prominent source of education where people can seek
knowledge of various disciplines
1954 : Became Maha Sarakham Teacher training School, offering aneducation program leading toa Lower Certificate of Education.
1962 : Upgraded to become Maha Sarakham Teachers' College , offering an education program
leading to a Higher Certificate of Education.
1970 : Was used as the temporary campus for the College of Education , sharing its staff, campus and
facilities before CE became a university located in the same city.
1974 : Began to offer Bachelor's degrees in Education.
1992 : The appellation of “Rajabhat Institute Maha Sarakham” by His Majesty the King and the enactment
of the Rajabhat Institute Act granted the Institute a higher status, equivalent to that of a university
The Institute began to offer various programs leading to Bachelor's degrees in Arts and Sciences,
apart from Education.
1997 : Joined Kasetsart University in offering a Master's degree program in Physical Education.
1998 : Began to offer Master's Degree program in Educational Administration, Social Sciences for
Development, and a 1-year Graduate Diploma in Teaching.
1999 : Faculty of Agricultural Technology was set up and the Institute began to expand its compus to include
the Nong No Compus. Apart from this, Phase I of Rajabhat Institute Kalasin Project was started in Kalasin Province . At the same time the Institute began to offer special ‘ Opportunity in Education programs'
(Kor Gor Or)apart from regular programs for high school students who needed opportunity in higher
education.
2000 : Began to offer a Bachelor's degree program in Law.
2002 : Began to offer a M.A. Programs in Strategies for Development and Social Sciences for Development; M.Ed. Programs in Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Technology; a programs based on His Majesty
the King's vision for sustainable growth and self-sufficient economy; and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
2004 : Legitimized by the Rajabhat University Act, the Institute become Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University .
2005 : Began to offer more Master's degrees in verious fields such as Educational Research and Evaluation; Mathematich Education; Health Promotion; Special Education; Computing Technology For Education;
Science Education; English; Thai; Communicative English for Careers; Library and Information Science;
Master of Public Administration Program.
OBJECTIVES:
- Implement educational and advanced professional programs.
- Conduct research.
- Provide academic services to the community.
- Improve, transfer, and develop technologies.
- Conserve and support art and culture.
- Produce teachers and upgrade teacher' qualifications.
THE UNIVERSITY SEAL
The Emblem or Seal of Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University, granted under the patronage of
His Majesty King Rama IX , is indeed the Emblem that depicts the Royal Seal of His Majesty the King.
The appellation “Rajabhat' itself is also bestowed by his Majesty and a pride to cherish among faculty members, personel, students and alumni.
The University Colors: Green and Red
Green is Growth and Red is Courage.
