           RAJABHAT MAHA SARAKHAM UNIVERSITY AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
                 Apart from implementing its regular educational programs through the five faculties, the University also provides
       community  services through its various resources as follow:

 

  THE ACADEMIC RESOURCE CENTER: 
         RIMHK Academic Resource Center is a well-equipped resource center that provides
academic services to faculty members, students, personnel, as well as interested individuals
from private and government sectors in the community. The Center houses books, textbooks,
periodicals, magazines, newspapers, audio-visual materials, databases and electronic media
of various sorts, including searches through various CD-ROM databases on-line such
as AGRICOLA, ERIC, DAO, etc., available for quick access to information and knowledge
of various disciplines. The quick modern and systematic facilities for information searches
has qualified the Center to earn several awards given in recognition of its management
and quality services.
THE ISAN ARTS AND CULTURAL OFFICE:
         This is a rich source available for studying the Northeastern Arts and culture.
It houses exhibits on the origin of Isan art and culture. Available on display are ancient artifacts
depicting the background and history of Northeastern arts. Included are ancient household items,
fishing tools, musical instruments, handicrafts such as Isan weaving and fabric designs,
especially naturally dyed material with local designs. The center also houses Buddhism-related
items, such as ancient bookcases for Buddhist teachings, an enshrined seat for religious preaching,
as well as locally-carved doors and window panels. Of particular interest are dried palm-leaf
inscriptions of Isan literature, in prose or poetry, covering various subjects such as traditional or
herbal medicine, Buddhism, folktales, horoscopes, etc. These are available for those who are
interested in ancient Isan culture and lifestyles The Center is open for public on official working
days and on the weekends and serves as a valuable source of Northeastern arts and cultural
studies. Guided tours are regularly arranged without charge upon request.
 
THE SPECIAL EDUCATION CENTER:
         The Center trains students of the university majoring in Special Education and also serves as a school for about 60 physically and learning disabled children from nearby areas. We also operate a community based rehabilitation program, extending our services to include home visits in the community by our staff. In addition, we organize workshops and seminars to raise awareness of the rights of the disabled and to enable each sub-district administration to properly assist those children identified with special education needs.

THE HOTEL BUSINESS TRAINING CENTER:
         The Center or Suan Warun is a fully furnished hotel offering the public
its 20 fully-furnished and nicely-decorated double rooms at reasonable rates. Its facilities include
4 well-equipped seminar rooms and its recognized restaurant "Pu Pang". The Hotel is also
used as a training center for students of the Hotel and Tourism Industry program.
THE COMPUTER CENTER:
         Besides running courses and training to equip RIMHK students with effective computer
skills necessary for their studies and future applications, the Center also offers the local public
inexpensive computer training opportunities.
THE SCIENCE CENTER:  
         The Center is well-equipped with scientific research facilities for students and faculty
members. The Center also extends its services to include co-operation with local sectors,
both private and government, in conducting research and study projects that benefit the
local community development.
THE LANGUAGE CENTER:
         The Language Center has been set up to accommodate facilities for the training of
foreign language skills. Opportunities are available for students and faculty members as well
as the public to have access to training especially in English. The Self-Access Center is divided
into three sections: Computer Room, Sound Lab, and the Library, Those who are interested in
other foreign languages such as French, Japanese and Chinese can also sign up for courses
offered by the Language Center.
